Customized training for YOUR community

While the content of Deconstructing Directing is and will continue to be completely free, customized support for your organization can help you put this content to use more effectively. Below is an overview of different types of customized support offerings, but if these don’t seem to fit your needs, please reach out to us and we will work with you to design a package that is meets you where you are. We are also available to provide language for grant applications and fundraising asks to help cover the costs, just ask!

Organizational
Consulting

  • This is an opportunity for a Board of Directors or an Artistic/Production staff to bring in an outside set of eyes and provide feedback and recommendations on areas where the theatre can improve organizational processes, especially as it relates to the recruitment, training, retention, and care of directors.

  • Pricing is dependent on the type of consultation you are requesting, and can be structured as an hourly rate or by charged by project. There is a quantity discount.

    Consultation packages are customizable and could include process and document review/creation, interviews with staff and volunteers, and presentations to the Board of Directors and/or Artistic Staff.

    On-site work will include travel, lodging, and per-diem costs. Training packages can be bundled with consultation for a discount.

Directing Classes

  • A directing class is distinct from a workshop in that it is a regular meeting with participants with the opportunity to provide ongoing mentorship and feedback to their work while they are participating in the class. Classes are most easily delivered via online modalities, though in-person options are available.

  • Classes are generally priced per participant at a rate of $25/contact hour/participant, with a minimum of 4 participants, and a maximum of 8.

    Ex: A 4-week class that meets for 2 hours every week would be $200/participant.

    Discounts are available for longer classes and when bundled with organizational consulting.

Directing Workshops

  • A workshop is a single class, usually between 2 and 8 hours in length, though it can extend to multiple consecutive days, and usually targets 1-2 specific topics related to directing.

  • Workshops are generally priced per participant at a rate of $25/contact hour/participant, with a minimum of 4 participants, and a maximum of 12. They can be conducted online or on-site.

    Ex: A 4-hour workshop would be $100/participant.

    Discounts are available for longer workshops and when bundled with organizational consulting. On-site workshops will include travel, lodging, and per-diem costs.
